The present edition of "Sexually Transmitted Infections" edited by Dr. Somesh Gupta and Bhusan Kumar is an excellent multi-author reference book on the present concepts and practices of the sexually infected infections. It appears to be an essential and must-read book for the post-graduate students, teachers, research workers, and sensible practitioners of Dermatology and other related branches of Medicine. The formatting, illustrations, color coding of pages, and inclusions of summary/conclusions have made the presentation suitable across all sections of users in different socio-economic conditions.

The 12 Section Editors have done justice to their reputations and have worked hard to give the book its desired shape in view the expectations of the users. All the 221 contributors, both national and international, are well known for their contributions in the field of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and have really done a wonderful job to make it relevant in the present situation and client friendly. It is because all of them that the book has become usable both nationally and internationally. They need to be congratulated.

This book has 16 sections, 117 chapters, and 1395 pages. The topics are appropriately selected based on their relevance and importance in the clinical significance, post-graduate curriculum, public health importance, psycho-social significance, and research needs. Apart from different STIs, the chapters on the concept of sexual health, recent national and global statics, syndromic management of STIs, STIs in special population groups, HIV infection, genital dermatology, medico-legal issues, sexual abuses, sexual dysfunctions, and animal models have made the book very illustrative.

Exhaustive bibliography will be of great help for further reading and research works on STIs and sexual health.

To conclude, this book will be an important addendum to the fields of STIs and sexual health, and will be a great help to all those for whom it is meant.
